GLENDALE — Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love is expected to get some preseason run before things get real on Sept. 13.
As for when and how much? Those details remain to be determined, with head coach Mike LaFleur planning to reveal more about the immediate plans for the Hall of Fame game ahead of Larry Fitzgerald Jr.’s induction.
That is unless you’re Love, who couldn’t think of a better way to honor the Hall of Famer than with his preseason debut.

“That’s just a huge honor just being able to play in the Hall of Fame game,” Love said. “We get to celebrate one of our own. I’m going to take a lot of pride in going out there and put my best foot forward and make sure I compete to honor Larry. Larry was a dog.
“I’m very excited to go out there and represent the Arizona Cardinals, represent Larry and let’s go out there and pull out a dub. Who doesn’t want to win? We want to win.”

And if he has it his way, Love showing off those skills against the Carolina Panthers is next on the agenda.
Because while Love wants to honor Fitzgerald on the field, he also wants to take the next step in his NFL development.
“I’m going to go play. You ain’t going to tell me I ain’t going to go play,” Love said. “I’m going to go out there and play. You trying to keep me on the sideline? No, I’m going to play.
“I want to hit, get my feet in the ground, actually play against another team. I need to go out there and play. I think it’s very important for my development as a rookie and as an NFL player to make sure I go out there and play in a preseason game or do whatever coach need me to do.”
