Marvin Harrison Jr. makes highlight-reel TD in joint practice vs. Packers

There must be something about Marvin Harrison Jr. and joint practices.

After putting Indianapolis Colts cornerback Kenny Moore II on skates during joint work against the Colts in 20224, Harrison did himself one better against the Green Bay Packers.

During first-team two-minute work in Wednesday’s joint practice with Green Bay, Harrison made a toe-tapping catch for the touchdown to put Arizona up in the game simulation.

Arizona’s bench quickly flooded the field to celebrate with the wide receiver.

“There’s not a play that Marv can make that surprises me at any point on the field, whether it’s one-handed, going back and Mossing someone, over the shoulder, or running through the ball, I’ve seen him make every type of catch multiple times,” wide receiver Michael Wilson told reporters after practice.

“That’s the standard he has for himself and also the receivers in the room, we expect Marv to make that play. That was awesome to see, especially the magnitude of that. Two-yard line, going against a rookie corner, that was a good play.”

Tight end Trey McBride followed Harrison’s score with another the very next play, according to reporters.

By all accounts, the Cardinals were slow out of the gates on Wednesday but responded well late on both sides of the ball.

“I think that on-the-ball stuff and two-minute we really showed just kind of where our conditioning has come into (play), practicing in that 110-degree heat and stuff,” pass rusher Zaven Collins, who recorded an interception late in practice said. “It’s been awesome. I thought we did a really good job in the second half.”

As for one of the potential reasons why the Cardinals had a lull to start? Not having to practice in the scorching temps like they did most recently on Monday before heading off to Green Bay.

“That’s probably honestly why we were little asleep, because the weather was too good,” Wilson said. There wasn’t enough adverse condition. That’s probably why. This feels like I’m inside my living room.”
