The Arizona Diamondbacks set a 50/50 raffle record Wednesday night after generating more than $240,000 in an effort to raise donations for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. And after the Thursday day game, fans had helped raise $372,923 total.

The team will match the total dollar amount and donate it to the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

Fans of the D-backs poured in to get involved, both at the game and from their homes.

“The last time we did this, after the Yarnell fires, and we opened up our 50/50 Raffle for that effort, we did $100,000 and that was just here in the ballpark,” D-backs President and CEO Derrick Hall said with Doug and Wolf on 98.7 FM, Arizona’s Sports Station. “Now that we have it online, the numbers are going through the roof.

“We’ve shown that this is a great way for our fans to give back because they want to give back; It’s an unbelievable community we have here.”

Donation efforts will continue Thursday when the D-backs try for the sweep against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
