Oct 31, 2017, 3:35 PM
Week 8 of the Fantasy Football season for the 98.7 FM Arizona Sports Host League saw two shows go head to head. Find out who won and more in this week’s recap.
Paul Calvisi (Paulie Pigskins): 120
Bertrand Berry (Daddy Phat $acks): 136
This matchup came down to Monday Night Football, and thanks to Travis Kelce, B-Train came away with the victory. B-Train’s team was very consistent this week with all but two players not scoring at least 12 points, with his top scorer being Will Fuller with 29 points. On the other hand, Paul had one of his best scoring weeks of the season. His top scorer was Russell Wilson with 35 points, with his next highest scorer being Rob Gronkowski with 16.
Dave Burns (Bold Strategy Cotton): 112
John Gambadoro (Sister Markus Golden Hair): 87
This was one of the bigger games of the host league this week and not because of it being a possible good matchup. Bragging rights were on the line. Burnsy got the win this week as his team was highlighted by DeAndre Hopkins, as the Texans receiver racked up 36 points. Unfortunately, Gambo did not have one player score in the 20s and his receivers struggled by only tallying a combined 16 points.
Listener Winner (Dancing with Stanton): 122
Dan Bickley (Blinded by the TD’s): 83
Is it too soon to name the Listener Winner the Arizona Sports Host League champion? After this week, he’s 7-1 and showing no signs of a collapse. The Listener’s team had all but one player score in double digits, with his leading scorer being the Ravens D/ST with a whopping 27 points. On the other hand, Bickley only had three players score at least 12 points. Ezekiel Elliott led the way with 26 points.
Ron Wolfley (Team Wolfley): 92
Doug Franz (I Hate Fantasy): 116
This was the other show that went head to head this week in the host league. Doug got the win and had a very strong showing from Melvin Gordon, Adam Thielen and the Eagles D/ST, with each of those players racking up at least 20 points. Although Wolf didn’t come away with the win, he set his lineup correctly, as his bench only had three points. Wolf’s leading scorer was Jimmy Graham with 19 points. Alvin Kamara was the next highest scorer with 15.
Vince Marotta (That Booty!): 141
Mike Jurecki (Team Jurecki): 71
This was Vince’s highest score all season. He started LeSean McCoy, as he rushed for a season-high 151 yards for 29 points. In addition, he went with Jack Doyle at tight end, who led Vince’s team with 30 points. Jurecki had the lowest score of the host league this week with only 71 points, as three of his nine players only had three points. Better luck next week, MJ.
