The Coyotes have found ways this season to get off to a fast start in the first period.

On Friday against the Oilers the Coyotes scored two quick goals, forcing Edmonton to make a change at goalie.

Fast forward to Saturday and it was a similar scene as the Coyotes were in San Jose to take on the Sharks.

After the Sharks’ Joe Thornton found the back of the net against the Coyotes’ Scott Wedgewood, Derek Stepan took matters into his own hands, tying it up at one apiece.

Trailing once again, Alex Goligoski found the back of the net to even things up at two.

Of course, San Jose had an answer.

Logan Couture found the back of the net thanks to an assist from Joonas Donskoi and Brent Burns to once again give the Sharks the one-point lead.

However, under 30 seconds later Christian Fischer scored with ease, forcing San Jose to swap out goalies.

Both teams combined for six goals in 14 minutes, and remained tied 3-3 at the end of the first period.
