Isaiah Thomas may not have survived the “Suns point guard clean-out of 2015,” in Phoenix, but he certainly didn’t seem to sweat it in his first game with the Boston Celtics Sunday night.
The former Phoenix Suns guard scored 21 points off the Celtics bench and played 25 minutes against the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center. He shot 6-of-13 from the field and 3-of-7 from behind the arc, doled out three assists and stole the ball twice (yet committed four turnovers). He also snagged five rebounds.
Most interestingly, Thomas was ejected from his Boston debut after picking up his second technical foul with 5:03 remaining.
Boston lost the game in overtime, 118-111.
