The Suns 2018-19 season was disappointing, finishing dead last in the Western Conference.

To make matters worse, they made some interesting draft night decisions that had people scratching their heads.

Now, according to Yahoo! Sports, the team is having a rather lackluster offseason. That’s why the Suns received an F grade for their off season by Yahoo! Sports.

It started with James Jones trading T.J. Warren and the 32nd overall pick for cash considerations. Then the GM decided to trade the sixth overall pick for Dario Saric and the 11th overall pick, where they received the rights to Cam Johnson, a forward out of North Carolina who was taken over some higher ranking prospects.

The trade that shipped Warren out of Phoenix was to clear cap space for free agency this summer.

That money went toward pick ups including the addition of Ricky Rubio for $51 million and Frank Kaminsky for $10 million. The Charlotte Hornets would even pay Kaminsky $4.4 million.

In free agency, they needed a point guard and signed Rubio, whose playmaking and defense fit with Devin Booker, but whose shortcomings may not be worth the $51 million he will get for the next three years. Their other big signing was giving Kaminsky $10 million when the Charlotte Hornets refused to pay him $4.4 million.

The Suns did get rid of Josh Jackson, who proved to be an off-court problem for the team.

However, they dished out two draft picks, De’Anthony Melton and waived Kyle Korver, a three point specialist who was a part of the deal.

Only time will tell if James Jones made the Suns better with his offseason moves.
