The NHL Winter Classic, an annual outdoor hockey game, has been a fan favorite event since it began in 2008.
This year the Dallas Stars have the challenging task of hosting the Nashville Predators at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. What would be an even more daunting task is if the Arizona Coyotes or the Vegas Golden Knights were to host the annual New Year’s Day game in the desert.
Neither team has played in the classic nor are they scheduled to, but one Reddit user created concept jerseys for the two desert-based teams and the designs should be the reason they get a shot at playing in the Winter Classic.
The Coyotes uniforms are filled out with their standard brick red and desert sand colors and feature designs from their alternate kachina jerseys. The numbers and patches on the sweater are bound by brick red stitching that goes across the numbers rather than outlining them.
The uniform also features a howling Coyotes logo on the left pant leg and the right shoulder.
The Knights concept jersey has a bit more modest, old-school look.
Still covered in black and gold, the most notable feature is the throwback knight helmet used as the logo.
One could dream that they’ll be able to rock these uniforms in a game sometime soon.
