A four-star high school recruit from California, Jordan Banks announced his decision to play college football at Arizona State on Friday afternoon.

He’s rated as a four-star recruit, according to 247Sports, and is from Harbor City, Calif. He’s in the class of 2020 and goes to Narbonne High School.

Also according to 247Sports, Banks was being recruited by Alabama, Oklahoma, Washington and Auburn. His Twitter account indicates he also drew interest from Tennessee, Colorado, USC, Michigan, Ohio State, LSU and others.

MaxPreps lists Banks as 6-foot-3 and 243 pounds. The 247Sports Composite ranking has him as the 18th-best recruit from California among all positions.

Arizona State already has multiple former four-star recruits on its roster in Merlin Robertson, Tyler Whiley and Khaylan Kearse-Thomas. But 247Sports’ evaluation describes Banks as a versatile defender, which could helping him earn playing time under head coach Herm Edwards.
