Arizona Coyotes unveiling new food and drink items for 2019-20 season

The Arizona Coyotes are back in full swing for the 2019-20 NHL season.

With that comes the goals, assists, saves and of course, new arena food and drinks.

The Coyotes didn’t just update the menu with a few fresh ideas, they changed up the game, bringing in four Arizona-based restaurants — Brat Haus, Cold Beer & Cheeseburgers, Frozen Penguin Ice Cream and Gadzooks — to help create the numerous new food items available at Gila River Arena.

“A central focus of our organization is creating a phenomenal fan experience at every one of our games,” Coyotes’ president and CEO Ahron Cohen said in a press release. “We spent countless hours this off-season exploring ways in which we could enhance the in-arena food and beverage offerings and provide our fans with an even more enjoyable time at our games.”

One of the most appetizing out of the bunch is Tocchet’s Totchos. Named after head coach Rick Tocchet, executive chef Charles Kassels and the Gila River Arena culinary team replaced tortilla chips for tater tots on their take of nachos. The tots are covered with cheese sauce, refried beans, pico de gallo and sour cream. The totchos are located at section 212.

If you’re looking for a savory-and-sugary bite to eat, look no further than the Chicken & Donuts. Crispy chicken covered in onion marmalade and maple bacon is sandwiched on a glazed donut bun and located at section 103.

While the Coyotes have a handful of new food items, they didn’t stop there.

In addition to the new-look menu, the Coyotes are also unveiling a number of new drinks. Like the El Coyote, which is filed with tequila, lime juice, agave and a splash of chili liqueur.

More of a beer drinker? The arena will be serving a new special edition Kachina Throwback Ale, made by Grand Canyon Brewing. Both drinks are available throughout the arena.

And while there’s an overload of new items to try out, it doesn’t seem like the Coyotes are stopping there.

“We focused on creating a more meaningful and relevant food and beverage experience by partnering with some great local concepts cherished by our fans throughout the Valley,” Cohen said in the release. “We are looking forward to our fans enjoying the food and beverage upgrades, but they should know that we will never stop searching for new opportunities to enhance the fan experience.”
