The Phoenix Suns waived forward David Kramer, center Norense Odiase and forward Tariq Owens on Tuesday.
Kramer, 22, was on the Suns’ summer league team after playing for four years professionally in Germany. He did not play in the preseason due to a stress reaction in his left tibia.
The Texas Tech product Odiase played eight total minutes in the preseason while his former college teammate Owens totaled 14.
The trio of players were on Exhibit 10 contracts, meaning the Suns could have chosen to convert either three to a two-way deal.
The Suns declined that choice and waived all three, meaning there is still one open two-way contract for the Suns alongside Jared Harper. The Suns’ roster is already at 15 guaranteed contracts.
The Exhibit 10 contract gives teams a chance to incentivize training camp bodies to stick around in the G League. If a player on that deal clears waivers and signs with the team’s G League affiliate, they will earn a bonus if they stay on the roster for 60 days.
Phoenix went 2-2 in the preseason, recently falling to the Denver Nuggets on Monday in the team’s preseason finale.
The Suns have more than a week off until the season opener on Oct. 23 against the Sacramento Kings. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
