Pro Football Focus ranked its 25-highest rated pass rushers through Week 6 on Wednesday.
Two Arizona Cardinals made the list: Chandler Jones at seventh and Terrell Suggs at 22nd.
Jones is 12th in the league with 4.5 sacks and has three forced fumbles as well.
According to PFF, he had just 42 pressures all of last year. Through six games in 2019, he has more than half of that already with 20 hurries, a quarterback hit and his 4.5 sacks.
Only Khalil Mack, Myles Garrett, Aaron Donald, J.J. Watt, Calais Campbell and Stephon Tuitt were rated higher than Jones.
When it comes to Suggs, PFF’s Gordon McGuinness said it best in his rankings article: “The old man evidently has still got it.”
The 37-year-old Suggs does not look his age as he continues to constantly penetrate opposing backfields. He has four sacks and is tied for 10th in the league with seven tackles for loss.
The future Hall of Famer has made seven Pro Bowls and won an AP Defensive Player of the Year award, but this is one of his best starts to a season, according to McGuinness.
After arriving in Arizona as a free agent this offseason, Suggs is currently on pace for his highest PFF pass-rushing grade in a single season.
The Cardinals’ pass rush is perhaps the strongest aspect of the team. It has the 14th-most sacks and quarterback hits in the league and is second in forced fumbles with nine (six by Jones and Suggs and two more by linebacker Jordan Hicks).
