On Sunday, the Northern Arizona Suns announced their 16-man training camp roster for the upcoming 2019-20 season.
Among the players listed, forwards Aaron Epps and Trayvon Palmer, in addition to guards ShawnDre Jones and Daxter Miles Jr., are the only returning players from last season.
Guard David Krämer, center Norense Odiase and forwards Tariq Owens and Troy Williams, who all played for the Phoenix Suns during the preseason, join the roster as affiliate players.
The NAZ Suns have also added one two-way player, three players taken in the G-League draft and four players from local tryouts.
Rookie forward Anthony Lawrence II, who was selected No. 1 in the draft, headlines the team’s new roster additions coming out of the University of Miami (Florida).
In four seasons with the Hurricanes, Lawrence averaged 8.0 points per game, 4.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists. Rookie guard Keljin Blevins was the Suns second first-round draft pick, being selected No. 15.
The 6-foot-6 Blevins recorded 11.8 points per game, 5.9 rebounds and 50 total assists in one season for the Montana State Bobcats.
After a disappointing 2018-19 season, when the team tied for the G-League’s worst record (12-38), the Suns look to bounce back as training camp beings in Prescott Valley on Monday.
The team opens the season on Nov. 9, when it hosts the Agua Caliente Clippers at the Findlay Toyota Center.
