Meet the ‘Wild Hogs’ of the Arizona Cardinals offensive line

A good motorcycle gang has all the essential characters.
D.J. Humphries is the one with the music.
J.R. Sweezy is the one who pops wheelies.
Mason Cole is doing nose dives.
And Justin Pugh? Well, he’s the one that, if he had it his way, would be staying safely on the sidewalk and not risking fate by speeding.
Together, they make up the Wild Hogs of the Arizona Cardinals locker room.
Those are the descriptions that Humphries gave during the Cardinals Flight Plan episode released Saturday.
The scooters that the Cardinals offensive line received from quarterback Kyler Murray around Christmastime last year have been put to good use. The players ride them around together most every day at practice.
The equipment team even put together a little parking lot for them after the linemen kept blocking their supplies.
That’s not all. One day, the linemen came in and saw their faces photoshopped onto the Wild Hogs movie poster.
“Being the O-line, we’re all about having fun. That’s like our main objective,” Humphries said. “Other than whooping people, we’re trying to have some fun.”
They often race, with Sweezy or Cole typically winning.
“My scooter always goes a little slower than everybody else’s because I don’t charge it as often as everyone else,” Humphries said. “Justin is always last because he’s a big safety guy. He wants to go slow, he likes to ride on the sidewalk. If it wasn’t for the rest of the Hogs, he would ride on the sidewalk every day.
“But, you know, we’re too cool for that.”
They may think they’re cool, but they’re by no means a real motorcycle gang at this time.
“We rode by a biker one day, he was a serious biker,” Humphries said with a laugh. “We tried to give him the biker sign and he just looked at us real aggressive-like, so we’re trying to duck all the bikers from here on out.”
