Suns, NBA teams can make trades beginning Monday as freeze ends

On Monday at 10 a.m. MST, the NBA trade freeze will be lifted and teams can begin to deal players, according to the New York Times’ Marc Stein.
Let the frenzy begin.
The moratorium was enacted on March 13 and extended through the bubble and into the beginning of the postseason. Teams were sent a memo on Sunday morning with the notification that the freeze would be coming to an end Monday.
The Phoenix Suns have been involved in trade rumors surrounding Oklahoma City Thunder guard Chris Paul. Such a deal, which would likely require Phoenix to send away Ricky Rubio and Kelly Oubre, would be allowed to be completed at that time should the two sides agree to a trade.

Already Sunday, there were other reports of a trade as the freeze news was being reported. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that a deal between the Thunder and Los Angeles Lakers centered around guard Dennis Schroder is expected to be agreed to Monday and finalized after the draft Wednesday.
Teams also have more clarification about payroll figures. The $109.1 million salary cap and $132.6 million luxury tax for the upcoming year are expected to stay at the same level as last season, according to Wojnarowski.
Both figures are projected to rise in following seasons.
