The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled outfielder Josh Reddick from the Triple-A Reno Aces ahead of the team’s matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Additionally, Arizona designated right-hand pitcher Yoan Lopez for assignment.
The 34-year-old outfielder has spent the last four seasons with the Houston Astros.
During that span, Reddick hit 48 home runs, racked up 208 RBIs and hit for a batting average of .278.
Reddick was also a part of the 2017 Astros squad that won the World Series by defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The veteran outfielder collected 13 home runs, drove in 82 RBIs and batted .314 during the Astros’ championship run that season.
In 13 games with the D-backs this season (12.1 innings pitched), Lopez posted a 6.57 ERA, striking out 13 and walking six. He had three blown saves this year.
Lopez has been a part of a D-backs bullpen that has struggled as of late.
Over the course of the D-backs’ four-game losing streak, the bullpen has allowed 13 runs combined.
The D-backs will look to kick that trend when they take on the Dodgers on Thursday night.
