The “Suns in 4” fan is still making waves across the virtual world.
Phoenix fan Nick McKellar was seen getting into an altercation with two Denver Nuggets fans during Game 3 before yelling “Suns in 4!”, a prophecy that came true.
The video turned into national media attention, memes and the latest: an action figure that debuted Friday.
Suns guard Devin Booker commented on the swirling attention surrounding the altercation during his Saturday afternoon media availability.
“I watched the whole video. I didn’t expect it to turn out into everything it is,” Booker said via Zoom.
Bidding for the action figure started at 99 cents on Friday. As of Saturday afternoon, the bid had reached $4,200.
In the description of the figure on eBay, the creator Hands of Doom toy store said a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity. Bidding closes on Wednesday and there’s no telling how high it will reach.
After the fight went viral, Booker got in contact with McKellar and reportedly sent him a signed jersey as well as tickets to the Western Conference Finals.
The shooting guard dove more into his exchange with the passionate fan during his Saturday media availability.
“He’s highly spirited for this team. … If you watch the full video, you might think he’s a pretty wholesome guy that had no wrong intention but was forced into that situation,” Booker said.
McKellar will be in the crowd on Sunday for Game 1 vs. the Los Angeles Clippers, to which Booker said, “We’re looking forward to it.”
