Arizona Cardinals linebacker Chandler Jones has reportedly asked for a trade, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Jones, a three-time Pro Bowler who led the NFL in sacks in 2017 and finished second in 2019, only played in five games last season due to a bicep injury that forced him to have season-ending surgery.
Acquired before the 2016 season in a trade with the New England Patriots, Jones is set to be an unrestricted free agent after this season.
According to Fowler, Jones is unhappy with his current contract and future with the team. However, the Cardinals are expecting the nine-year veteran to arrive at training camp, which begins on Tuesday.
The Cardinals are expected to have one of the top pass rushing duos after signing defensive end J.J. Watt this offseason.
Last year, Arizona was tied for fourth in the NFL with 48 sacks as a team.
The Cardinals are not expected to entertain trades for Jones at this time, according to Fowler.
