Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul had surgery on his left wrist following his team’s appearance in the NBA Finals, according to The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears.

Spears reports Paul will be ready for training camp with the Suns.

The tidbit broke just before it was known that Paul and the Suns agreed to a four-year contract worth up to $120 million on Monday, according to Yahoo! Sports’ Chris Haynes.

Paul fell on that left wrist in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against the Los Angeles Clippers after a rough foul by Patrick Beverley.

The point guard had two separate injuries in that series. He suffered an injury to his right hand at some point in the playoffs, admitting after the Western Conference Finals he had partially torn ligaments in it. In a separate answer, Paul said he had an MRI on his left wrist after Game 5.

That was as far as confirmation got on Paul being injured throughout the end of that series and the NBA Finals, as both Paul and head coach Monty Williams continued to say the 36-year-old point guard was fine. Paul had some of his right fingers taped and his left wrist wrapped the rest of the way.

Paul, however, did not look like himself in the NBA Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks.

After a masterful 41 points in Game 6 to wrap up the conference finals against the Clippers, Paul averaged 21.8 points and 8.2 assists per game in the championship round, committing uncharacteristic turnovers, with over three per game.

Paul was acquired by the Suns last offseason from the Oklahoma City Thunder and helped lead the team to the franchise’s third NBA Finals berth. He made Second Team All-NBA and All-Star team.
