After the USA women’s basketball team won their seventh straight Olympic gold, the ladies showed off their new bling at the medal ceremony.
Beating host nation Japan, 90-75, Team USA was helped by a dominant performance from Phoenix Mercury forward Britney Griner.
Griner scored 30 points, the most in a women’s gold medal game in Olympic history. Only Lisa Leslie has scored more in an Olympic game, scoring 35 points in 1996 against Japan.
With the win, Mercury guard Diana Taurasi won her fifth straight Olympic gold, along with Sue Bird as the only players in USA Olympic basketball history to have as many.
