The Los Angeles Rams announced on Saturday that they have placed running back Darrell Henderson on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
As a result, the 24-year-old tailback will not be available when the Arizona Cardinals host their division rivals on Monday Night Football at State Farm Stadium.
Coming into the Week 14 contest, the Rams’ leading rusher was pacing 64.8 rushing yards per game on 14.2 attempts.
He has also been averaging 17.2 receiving yards on 2.7 receptions per outting.
But despite being active, Henderson did not play in the Rams’ 37-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars last week due to a thigh injury.
Starting in his place was backup running back Sony Michel, who Los Angeles traded for at the beginning of the season.
In just his second start on the year, Michel rushed for 121 yards on 24 carries — both season highs — to go along with a touchdown and an average of 5.4 yards per attempt.
The tailback also reeled in three receptions on four targets for eight yards.
Arizona has an opportunity to clinch a playoff spot and put one hand on the NFC West division title on Monday night.
The Cardinals announced on Saturday that State Farm Stadium’s roof is expected to open for the MNF clash.
Kickoff is set for 6:15 p.m. Listen live on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
