Another week, another pair of MRIs for the Arizona Cardinals.
Both defensive lineman Jordan Phillips and wide receiver Rondale Moore are scheduled to undergo MRIs, head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Monday.
Phillips and Moore did not finish Sunday’s 30-12 loss to the Detroit Lions after going down with a knee and ankle injury, respectively.
Moore injured his ankle early on in the third quarter on a kick return. Moore caught all three of his targets for nine yards and added a rushing yard in the loss. He also notched two kick returns for 48 yards and two punt returns for 18 yards.
Phillips exited the matchup later on in the third quarter following the Cardinals’ second field goal make of afternoon.
The lineman was one of only two Cardinals defenders to get to quarterback Jared Goff on Sunday, recording a sack, a tackle for loss and a QB hit.
Phillips and Moore aren’t the only Cardinals players whose statuses are up in the air with three games left to play in the regular season.
While he was placed on the injured reserve with a pectoral injury Saturday, Kingsbury did not entirely rule out cornerback Robert Alford’s return to the team by the end of the year.
“With Rob, it’s kind of a wait-and-see deal,” Kingsbury said. “We’re not sure just yet where that stands.”
Alford must sit out at least three games before he can be activated off the IR, making Arizona’s season finale against the Seattle Seahawks the earliest he can return to action.
