The Arizona State Sun Devils football coaching staff had a shake-up on Friday.
Offensive coordinator Zak Hill has resigned due to his role in the NCAA’s investigation of ASU regarding recruiting violations.
Devils Digest was the first to report the move.
Newly hired offensive analyst and advisor Brian Billick is not expected to become the next OC, according to Arizona Sports‘ John Gambadoro.
Gambadoro adds that the next Arizona State OC hire is expected to come from outside of the program.
Additionally, the three coaches who had been placed on administrative leave last season are no longer with the program.
Former ASU wide receivers coach Prentice Gill and secondary coach Chris Hawkins were fired earlier this month, while tight ends coach Adam Breneman resigned.
Sun Devil Athletics is not able to comment while the NCAA review is ongoing, which is expected to take several more months.
ASU did, however, announce the promotions of Juston Wood and Bobby Wade on Friday.
Wood gets his interim tag removed as tight ends coach, while Wade goes from graduate assistant to wide receivers coach,
Wade is a Phoenix Desert Vista High School graduate and was inducted into the Arizona Wildcats Ring of Honor in 2015.
Arizona State also hired Missouri’s Aaron Fletcher as the team’s new defensive backs coach last week.
