The Arizona Coyotes will be without one of their forwards on Sunday against the Blackhawks in Chicago.
The NHL on Saturday announced that Nick Ritchie has been suspended for one game after slashing Anaheim Ducks defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk in the head.
Arizona lost the game 5-0 at Gila River Arena on Friday night.
Ritchie was acquired along with a second-round draft choice in a trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 19.
The Coyotes sent defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin and forward Ryan Dzingel to the Leafs in the deal.
Ritchie made his Arizona debut on February 25 in a 3-1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights at Gila River Arena.
In 17 games played for the Coyotes this season, the forward has 10 points on eight goals and two assists.
The 26-year-old forward is also averaging nearly 13 minutes of ice time per game.
Arizona faces off in Chicago at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
