The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled pitcher Corbin Martin from Triple-A Reno, placed pitcher Sean Poppen on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation and traded Stuart Fairchild to the Seattle Mariners for cash considerations, the team announced Saturday.
Martin was sent to Reno on Thursday after he appeared in just two games for Arizona this season, totaling nine strikeouts in six innings pitched to go with a 3.00 ERA and 1.17 WHIP.
He pitched in five games in 2021 while posting a 10.69 ERA and 2.31 WHIP.
Martin, as well as Seth Beer, J.B. Bukauskas and Josh Rojas, were a part of the trade that sent Zach Greinke to the Houston Astros.
Poppen has appeared in five games for Arizona, pitching six innings, giving up one earned run while striking out three batters.
Fairchild came over from the Cincinnati Reds in the deal that sent Archie Bradley out of the Valley.
He got 15 ABs in 2021 and recorded two hits and two RBIs while striking out three times.
The D-backs roster remains at 40 men.
