Could the Phoenix Coyotes be back to square one in their ownership saga?
Just one day after the Glendale City Council approved covering the team’s losses for another season while they and the NHL find a new owner, it’s being reported that Matthew Hulsizer may be backing out.
FOX 10’s Jude LaCava is reporting that, according to his NHL sources, Hulsizer is walking away from the deal.
NHL sources tell me Matthew Hulsizer is stepping back from deal with Coyotes….he could have been perfect fit for AZ !
With Hulsizer stepping away and no other owner in sight, it is beginning to sound like the Coyotes are right back where they started. No owner, no longterm security and more questions than the SAT.
Reports emerged Monday that the NHL and Glendale had reached out to Chicago White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf to see if he’d be interested again in attempting to purchase the wayward franchise. If Reinsdorf turns them down and Hulsizer does indeed walk away, things could get even uglier for the Coyotes. If that’s even possible.
