The saga of the Phoenix Coyotes has been an ongoing story for years, but it seems the situation will be resolved within the next week.
According to Sporting News’ Jesse Spector, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said the Coyotes are unlikely to be playing in Glendale next season should the city not approve a proposed lease agreement that is expected to go to a vote on Tuesday.
Bettman on PHX: “We’re anticipating — or, hoping — the Glendale City Council passes the deal with the Renaissance Group.”

Bettman: “If the council doesn’t approve it… I don’t think the Coyotes will be playing there anymore.”

Bettman also said the relocation options are available and the team could be moved in time for next season.
Should the team leave the Valley, it would reportedly be destined for Seattle.
