The owners of the Arizona Coyotes are waiting to see if the Tempe City Council — and then most likely Tempe residents — will approve a new arena and huge mixed-use development.
While the project has been talked about for more than a year, the city of Tempe made public plans for the Tempe Entertainment District (TED) earlier this week. The city’s Development Review Board will weigh in on zoning changes that would be needed to develop the project during a Nov. 15 meeting. The documents detail what will be built and why it would need new zoning.
The project will be built on 46 acres on the northeast corner of Priest Drive and Rio Salado Parkway, just south of the Salt River. Currently, the site is a landfill.
Here is what the Coyotes – through its company Bluebird Development LLC – have proposed.
