The Arizona Cardinals will close out the 2022 regular season on Sunday on the road against the San Francisco 49ers at 2:25 p.m., the league announced on Monday.
Despite Arizona being eliminated from playoff contention, there is still much to play for in the final game for much of the league.
Arizona can climb as high as the No. 2 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft if both the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos lose. The Cardinals can fall as far as No. 6 with a win (current at No. 4).
San Francisco still has a shot at the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC with a win and Philadelphia Eagles loss. The Eagles kick off at the exact same time against the New York Giants.
Other important games around the league include the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. the Tennessee Titans, which will decide the division and No. 4 seed in the AFC.
The Seahawks also host the Los Angeles Rams, while the Lions will take on the Packers, with Seattle, Detroit and Green Bay all fighting for the final NFC Wild Card spot.
A SAD FAREWELL
This will be the final game in future Hall of Famer J.J. Watt’s legendary career. The former Wisconsin Badger still leads the team with 10.5 sacks.
Over the course of his 12-year career, he had played in every stadium except for Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, as well as Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. He will get to check off both of those boxes, as the last two games of his career are both on the road against the Falcons and 49ers.
