The Arizona Cardinals laundry list of injuries continued on Sunday on the road against the San Francisco 49ers.
Quarterback David Blough was taken to the locker room with concussion symptoms late in the third quarter.
Blough was making his second start in a Cardinals uniform after getting the nod in Atlanta a week ago with Kyler Murray and Colt McCoy out with injuries.
Outside of two interceptions, Blough was competitive against one of the NFL’s best defenses, going 14-of-18 with 180 yards and a touchdown pass.
The San Francisco defense was relentless, racking up nine QB hits and three sacks.
Trace McSorley replaced Blough, leading a nine-play, 33-yard drive before coming up short on a fourth-down attempt.
The Cardinals entered the matchup already shorthanded, with linebacker Zaven Collins (calf), running back James Conner (shin), cornerbacks Marco Wilson (neck) and Antonio Hamilton (hip), wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins (knee) and Robbie Anderson (back) and defensive lineman Zach Allen (hand) were all inactive heading into the game.
EXTRA POINT
Left tackle Josh Jones also was shaken up at the end of the third quarter with a knee injury but walked off under his own power. He will not return.
The Cardinals trail the 49ers 38-13 in the fourth quarter. Tune to 98.7, Arizona Sports app or ArizonaSports.com.
