Kyler Murray, 3 others named Arizona Cardinals 2024 captains

The Arizona Cardinals named Kyler Murray, James Conner, Kyzir White and Budda Baker as captains on Monday, according to head coach Jonathan Gannon.

In a change of pace this year, the captains were voted on by the players. Gannon picked the captains last year in his first season at the helm. There will also be game day captains as well, Gannon said.

“Going to do it a little different this this year. I had the players vote last week,” Gannon said. “And most games (we’ll) do a game captain that the players will pick.”

The Arizona Cardinals captains have been decided (as voted on by the players):

– Kyler Murray
– James Conner
– Kyzir White
– Budda Baker

Murray, Conner, White and Baker were all captains last season as well. It is the third straight year Conner has been named a captain, while it is the fifth straight season for Murray and Baker.

Linebacker Dennis Gardeck was not listed as a captain but could be a game day selection. Gardeck had been a captain the previous four seasons.

“A lot of good guys in that locker room. A lot of guys got votes,” Gannon said Monday. “A lot of leadership, positive leadership in there with a bunch of different guys. So feel really good about the health and the state of where we are as a team.”
