The Valley Suns traded their first-round pick in the 2025 NBA G League Draft to acquire the returning player rights of guard Jaden Shackelford from the Oklahoma City Blue.
Shackelford appeared in 60 games with 43 starts over the past two seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder’s G League squad.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound guard averaged 13.1 points, 2.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game. He shot 38% overall and 36% from three, taking 8.7 deep shots out of 11.3 total per game.
Shackelford played three years in college for the Alabama Crimson Tide before latching on with Oklahoma City.
The Valley Suns are entering their debut season and will play at Arizona State University’s Mullett Arena in Tempe.
The team released its 2024-25 schedule on Tuesday.
Shackelford and the Valley Suns open on the road Nov. 8 against the Santa Cruz Warriors before a Nov. 11 home opener against the Stockton Kings.
