Veteran defensive lineman Angelo Blackson joined the Arizona Cardinals practice squad roster on Tuesday as the team released undrafted rookie Tyler Manoa.
The Cardinals had signed Manoa, an Arizona Wildcat product, to the practice squad last week after losing Ben Stille to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Blackson brings 128 games and 42 starts of NFL experience to the table. He was cut by the Denver Broncos at the end of August.
Blackson played for the Cardinals in 2020, making nine starts in 16 games. He recorded 24 tackles with 2.5 sacks, eight quarterback hits and four tackles for loss during that span.
Since, the 6-foot-4, 318-pound lineman played for the Chicago Bears from 2021-22, then spent last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Blackson began his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans, who drafted him 100th overall (fourth round) in the NFL Draft. He played there two years and the next three seasons for the Houston Texans (2017-19) before landing with the Cardinals in 2020.
The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Manoa signed with the Minnesota Vikings after going undrafted out of Arizona this offseason.
He spent four years at UCLA before a 2023 campaign with the Wildcats. He recorded 28 tackles to go with 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery in his final season before going pro.
