Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant suffered a left calf strain and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, the team announced on Saturday.
Durant led the Suns with 26 points in a 114-113 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night, playing 37 minutes and hitting a couple massive 3s in the final five minutes.
He missed time with a left calf strain during the lead up to the Paris Olympics over the summer.
The 36-year-old was putting on a show to start the season, averaging 27.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in Phoenix’s 8-1 start.
Durant is ninth in the NBA in scoring and second in minutes per game at 38.8.

And he has come up big in clutch moments, as the Suns have won seven games by two possessions or fewer. Against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, Durant hit a go-ahead jumper with a minute left and the game-winning driving layup. Two days later against the Heat, he scored six points in the final 67 seconds to put Miami away.
With the best record in the Western Conference, the Suns will have to manage their first brutal injury of the season, putting more on the plates of Devin Booker and Bradley Beal while Durant rehabs.
The Suns have shown off improved depth this year with Royce O’Neale and Grayson Allen providing critical minutes off the bench and rookie Ryan Dunn proving himself as both a rotation player and difference maker. Dunn missed the Dallas game with a sprained ankle.
Phoenix hosts the Sacramento Kings on Sunday and hit the road for four games against the Utah Jazz, Kings, Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves.
Dunn is probable for Sunday, but center Jusuf Nurkic is questionable (left ankle soreness).
