ASU WR Jordyn Tyson underwent surgery, will be healthy for 2025

Arizona State receiver Jordyn Tyson underwent surgery Tuesday on an undisclosed injury and is expected to be healthy to start the 2025 season, Kenny Dillingham told reporters.
Tyson was already ruled out of the Big 12 title game because of the injury suffered during the second half of Saturday’s 49-7 win over Arizona. Dillingham said the receiver was “out indefinitely.”
Now, it appears that Tyson’s availability is not on the table if ASU wins the Big 12 title game to reach the College Football Playoff or loses and heads to a bowl game.
“We’re trying to get him back by next season and help him go from there,” Dillingham said Wednesday.
The injury comes as a major setback to the receiver’s development, as the Sun Devil broke through after dealing with a leg injury last year.
Tyson accounted for 45% of the team’s passing yards (1,101) and 42% of its completions (75).
“You don’t replace a guy like that. He’s a one-of-a-kind player and really special, (so) that’s not how we’re gonna approach it. We’re just gonna get the ball into other people’s hands in different ways,” ASU quarterback Sam Leavitt said. “(Offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo’s) got a really good plan for us, so we’re just gonna go out there and execute.”
With Tyson out, Xavier Guillory, Melquan Stovall and Troy Omeire will likely receive the brunt of reps at wideout.
