Arizona Wildcats freshman Bryce James said he’s the biggest sneakerhead in the James family while appearing on Complex’s popular YouTube series “Sneaker Shopping.”

The son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James talked about some of his favorite shoes and his dad’s sneaker collection at Tucson’s The Sole Reserve with Joe La Puma.

LeBron’s older son, Bronny, appeared on Sneaker Shopping in 2024 and said at the time that his younger brother was the biggest sneakerhead in the family, which Bryce confirmed in Monday’s episode.

“I would probably say I’m the biggest sneakerhead just because I’ve seen a lot of sneakers just on the internet and everywhere,” James said. “So every time I see some shoes that I like, you know, I gotta have them.”

Nevertheless, Bryce admitted his dad does have a “crazy” sneaker collection.

“He’s got shoes all over the place,” James said. “You walk in, (shoes) on the floor, shoes all over the place, on the walls, he got a crazy collection for sure.”

James said his favorite shoes to wear off the court are the Air Jordan 1 Low x Travis Scott and the Nike Vomero.

Bryce and Bronny both graduated from high school wearing the Air Jordan 1 Low x Travis Scott shoes, while the Nike Vomero is popular amongst the entire James family.

In terms of Air Jordan models, he noted he likes the XIs and said the Air Jordan IV in the “Black Cat” colorway is “definitely one of my favorite pairs of shoes.”

Also in the episode, La Puma showed James a pair of the Nike Foamposite One in the OG “Royal” colorway, which the Arizona men’s basketball team debuted in 1997 on the way to winning the program’s first national championship.

“The Foamposites, I rock with them a lot,” James said. “Probably, I might rock one of these in a game to be honest. Yeah, I’ll probably give them a try, see how they’re feeling.”

Speaking of on the court, James said his favorite shoes to play in are the Nike Kobe IV, V and VI, and the Nike LeBron 20.

When it came time to rank his favorite sneakers from his dad’s signature line, Bryce said the Nike Zoom Generation, Nike LeBron 20 and the Nike LeBron Solider line are his top 3.

Bryce James teases Arizona Wildcats custom Nike A’ja Wilson shoes

Shortly after announcing his commitment earlier this year, LeBron posted a picture of Bryce in a Wildcats jersey and a pair of “Arizona” Nike Book 1s. After La Puma mentioned the Booker collaboration and asked if anything else was in the works, Bryce said some custom Nike Arizona A’ja Wilson shoes are on the way.

“I think they’re talking about getting some A’jas in there too, you know those are customs, so definitely looking forward to those,” James said.

While Arizona men’s basketball coach Tommy Lloyd has said redshirting James is a “possibility,” this season, James expressed in the episode how much he’s looking forward to the season.

“Definitely excited because I know here in Tucson you know the crowds really like to get active, get into the games, you know I’m really gonna be excited,” James said.

At the end of the episode, James bought four pairs of shoes which amounted to $2,610. He picked up the Air Jordan 5 x Awake NY in the “Arctic Pink” colorway ($950), the Nike Kobe IV Protro x FC Barcelona in the “Team Gold” colorway ($380) and the Nike Air Force 1 Low Cactus Plant Flea Market in the white ($490) and black ($790) colorways.
