Suns’ sunburst jerseys make strong 1st impression to fans

The Phoenix Suns debuted their sunburst jerseys Tuesday night. To say it left a good first impression is an understatement.

A new candidate for “understatement of the year:” the Phoenix Suns sunburst jerseys left a strong first impression Tuesday night.

With a new-school twist to the uniforms of their 1992-93 NBA Finals team and beyond, the sunburst uniforms that debuted at Footprint Center on national television were a metaphorical home run. Reporters, fellow NBA players and fans chimed in to share their thoughts.

After netting a point differential of zero through the season’s first two games, the Suns laid a whooping on two consecutive consensus top teams in the Western Conference.

On Sunday, they beat the Los Angeles Clippers by 17. Tuesday, it was the Warriors’ turn, as the Suns beat them 134-105.

Five Suns scored at least 16 points against Golden State, while guard Devin Booker led the way with 34. Backup center Jock Landale, who the team acquired from the Atlanta Hawks in July, scored 17 off the bench.

The Suns’ next game is Friday at 7 p.m. MST against the New Orleans Pelicans. Phoenix hopes to win its third straight and improve to 4-1 on the young season.
