Toronto’s Cory Joseph feeling a lot like Austin Powers

It's not every day you see a guy get hit in the face with a shoe, but Cory Joseph got that treatment Wednesday night.

“Who throws a shoe? I mean, honestly?” — Austin Powers

The above quote is from a memorable scene in the original Austin Powers movie. Now, Toronto Raptors guard Cory Joseph is undoubtedly asking the same question.

In a preseason game Wednesday night, Los Angeles Clippers guard Jamal Crawford lost a shoe during the course of a play. Forward Blake Griffin picked it up, but then had a pass thrown to him as he stood in between the circles. Reflexively, when the ball was thrown to him, he tossed the shoe and it hit Joseph right in the face.

It wasn’t thrown hard, but that can’t feel good. At least everybody had a good laugh about it.
