Phoenix Mercury waiving guard Kiana Williams

The Phoenix Mercury are waiving guard Kiana Williams, the team announced Thursday.

Williams appeared in four games (3-1) for Phoenix this season, averaging 5.3 points on 60% shooting and 42.9% from long range. She added 1.3 rebounds and one assist across 10.5 minutes per game.

In her final game with Phoenix, a 79-71 win over the Minnesota Lynx, she recorded two points and two rebounds.

Before her time in Phoenix this season, Williams had WNBA stops in Seattle (2021, 2022, 2024) and Connecticut (2022).

Phoenix waiving Williams comes after Wednesday’s win over Minnesota.

The victory moves Phoenix to 14-6 on the year, good enough for the second-best record in the league entering play Thursday. The Lynx pace the WNBA at 17-3.

Leading the way for Phoenix has been forward Satou Sabally, who is averaging 19.1 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists across 28.3 minutes per game.

Her and forward Alyssa Thomas will represent the Mercury at the WNBA All-Star Game on July 19.

They’ll look to add to their win total Monday night against the Golden State Valkyries (10-9).
