TJ McConnell rocks Mercury sister Megan’s jersey before Game 1 of NBA Finals

Phoenix Mercury fans likely had a Pointing Leonardo DiCaprio moment ahead of Game 1 of the NBA Finals after seeing Indiana Pacers guard and Arizona Wildcats alum TJ McConnell in the WNBA team’s threads pregame.

The outfit choice goes well beyond looking clean, too. It’s his sister Megan’s No. 16 jersey after she signed with the team two days prior.

Megan McConnell recorded three points, one rebound, three assists and a block in 13 minutes of work in a Commissioner’s Cup loss to the Minnesota Lynx.

She appeared in two preseason games for Phoenix but was waived ahead of the season opener.

Her sibling, meanwhile, enters Game 1 against the Oklahoma City Thunder after averaging 8.4 points on 52.8% shooting and 35.7% from deep in 16 playoff games. He’s added 3.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists.

Before his NBA stops with Philadelphia and Indiana, McConnell wrapped up his college career with Arizona.

He made 76 starts across two seasons (2013-15) for the Wildcats and named a Pac-12 All-Defense member twice. He also led the Pac-12 in assists with 238 as a senior.

The guard went undrafted but signed on with the 76ers’ 2015 Summer League before inking a contract with the franchise.

Megan McConnell returns the favor

After getting some run on Tuesday, the younger McConnell is out for Phoenix’s game against Golden State on Thursday due to a knee issue.

According to Desert Wave Media, she is expected to miss three to four weeks with the injury.

That didn’t stop her from repping her brother’s Indiana threads pregame.
