A welterweight bout between a pair of the division’s hottest fighters has officially been added to the UFC Fight Night card in San Antonio.
On Wednesday, UFC officials announced Kelvin Gastelum will put his perfect record on the line against Sweden’s own Nico Musoke.
Gastelum (8-0) has taken the mixed martial arts world by storm, since being crowned The Ultimate Fighter 17 champion last year. In his most recent outing, the Yuma native secured a narrow split decision victory over UFC veteran Rick Story at UFC 171 in March to push his record to 3-0 inside a UFC octagon. Prior to this victory, fans saw Gastelum secure a first round submission win over the hard hitting Brian Melancon at UFC Fight Night 27 in August.
Musoke (12-2) is coming off off back-to-back victories over Viscardi Andrade at UFC Fight Night 35 and MMA veteran Alessio Sakara in his UFC debut back at UFC Fight Night 30.
UFC Fight Night 45 takes place June 28 at San Antonio’s AT&T Center. A featherweight matchup between top contenders Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens is currently scheduled for the main event.
