Former Phoenix Suns F Marcus Morris engages in Twitter fight with radio host

There is no love lost between the Phoenix Suns and Marcus Morris.

The Suns traded the forward to the Detroit Pistons earlier this month in a move that on the surface seemed meant to clear salary cap space, but was also likely meant to help fix what had been a somewhat dysfunctional locker room.

While Morris — who averaged 10.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game last season — may not have been particularly well liked in the Valley (especially after he got into a shouting match with head coach Jeff Hornacek in January), truth is most Suns fans probably forgot about him once he was traded out of town.

Then Thursday night happened, and Marcus decided to take a shot at his former team in a tweet to a former teammate, telling Archie Goodwin, “u killed it in summer league for them clowns though kid..”

Needless to say, Suns fans did not appreciate their team being referred to as clowns. They decided to tweet Morris with their displeasure, which then led to this:

Not surprisingly, that did not go over well with Planet Orange.

One person who took offense to Morris’ comments was Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro, who made the choice to stick up for Suns fans.

That was just the beginning.

The Morris twins, you may recall, were charged with felony aggravated assault in April due to an incident that happened in January. They pled not guilty, though the two are expected to appear in court on Aug. 3 for a pretrial conference.
