The UFC is finally heading to the Grand Canyon State.

Speaking to fans following the UFC 173 weigh-ins at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, UFC president Dana White revealed the organization was targeting the U.S. Airways Center in downtown Phoenix as the location for a December 13 fight card.

While White did not reveal whether it would a pay-per-view, the date he mentioned most likely means it will be UFC on FOX 13 as the date lines up perfectly for the promotions' annual fourth quarter FOX card.

This will mark Zuffa LLC.'s second trip to Arizona since WEC 53, the final event in the company's history, which was held inside arena in Glendale.

While the promotion has yet to target any fights, prominent Arizona fighters such as former champions Benson Henderson and Jamie Varner and former ASU wrestlers turned UFC superstars Ryan Bader, John Moraga and C.B. Dollaway would all be strong candidates to appear on the night's main card.
