Arizona Coyotes center Antoine Vermette traded to Chicago Blackhawks

Antoine Vermette was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks Saturday according to reports.

Word of the trade came shortly after a 4-1 Arizona Coyotes loss in Boston — after it was reported that Vermette would ride the team plane back to Phoenix.

The 6-foot-1 center has played for the Coyotes since 2011. He has 13 goals and 22 assists in 63 games this season. In his 11 NHL seasons, Vermette has 194 goals and 236 assists in 815 regular-season games split between Ottawa, Columbus and Arizona.
The Coyotes receive a first-round pick and a prospect from the Blackhawks in the trade.
Defenseman Klas Dahlbeck is the prospect coming back to Arizona for Antoine Vermette.

Klas Dahlbeck is listed at 6-3, 207 pounds. Hawks' 3rd-round pick in 2011 (79th overall). Stay-at-home D-man w/some offense in his game.

“Klas Dahlback is a big, strong, two-way defenseman who skates well and competes hard,” Maloney said in an Arizona Coyotes release. “We are excited to welcome him to our organization.”
