Suns’ Devin Booker exchanges words with Lakers bench

Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker did not like what he heard from the Los Angeles Lakers bench Monday night.

With his team down 98-91 and under a minute to go, Booker missed a three-point shot by the Lakers bench.

Tyson Chandler would foul Brandon Ingram after a rebound to give Los Angeles free throws, but attention quickly went elsewhere.

After getting up off the ground, Booker appeared to exchange words with Lakers players Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Julius Randle before walking over to the bench to discuss more.

After the issue was reviewed, nothing extra was called on the matter by officials and Ingram shot his free throws.

Booker revealed after the game it was not Randle or Caldwell-Pope who said something, but rather a member of the Lakers coaching staff.

“I didn’t know who it was,” Booker said, revealing that it wasn’t a coach he was familiar with, like head coach Luke Walton and assistant coaches Miles Simon and Brian Shaw.

“I’m not here to tell on anybody,” Booker said of the remarks made.

“If you’re not my coach, I don’t know you. Don’t say anything to me.”

Booker was the last player on the court to speak negatively of Monday night. He scored a game-high 36 points on 52 percent shooting in the team’s 100-93 loss to Los Angeles.
