After missing Friday’s game, Arizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo is back in the dugout.
With the return of the skipper, the D-backs look to take Game 3 of the four-game series against the Giants.
Lovullo, who was under the weather, met with a doctor and made the decision to stay home on Friday.
“Yesterday, I came to the ballpark and I just was off,” Lovullo said. “I wasn’t feeling good. I didn’t know what it was. The trainers just got a look at me and thought it would be a good idea if I went to the doctor just to make sure everything was all right.”
Bench coach Jerry Narron took over managing duties for Lovullo as the D-backs put together a 6-3 win over the San Francisco Giants Friday night. Former D-backs catcher Robby Hammock moved to bench coach.
It’s been a back-and-forth affair as the Giants took Game 1, while the D-backs poured it on in the second meeting, winning 6-3.
Entering play Saturday, the D-backs find themselves tied atop the NL West, but hold the tiebreaker over the second-place Los Angeles Dodgers.
