The Phoenix Coyotes are now at a point where every point is more critical than ever in their hunt for a playoff spot.

They didn’t do themselves any favors on Wednesday.

The Los Angeles Kings scored just 1:20 into the game and didn’t slow down from there, routing the Coyotes 4-0 at Staples Center en route to clinching a playoff spot of their own.

Here’s a closer look at the loss, by the numbers:

The Coyotes now have just five games remaining — including three games in four days to close the season, which ends with what could be a playoff-berth deciding contest at home against the Dallas Stars.
