The Arizona Coyotes announced a couple of trades Friday.
In the first move, the team dealt defenseman Stefan Elliott to the Nashville Predators for defenseman Victor Bartley. Following that trade, the team sent Bartley and forward John Scott to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for defenseman Jarred Tinordi and forward Stefan Fournier.
Essentially what it comes down to from the Coyotes’ perspective is Scott and Elliott for Tinordi and Fournier.
Tinordi, 23, has played in three games with the Canadiens this season. The 6-foot-6, 230-pound native of Minnesota also tallied a 0-2-2 line with six penalty minutes in six games with the St. John’s IceCaps of the AHL. He has appeared in 46 career NHL games — all with Montreal — and registered a 0-6-6 with 66 penalty minutes.
Fournier is a 23-year-old who has recorded 5-2-7 and 65 penalty minutes in 24 games with the IceCaps this season.
The Coyotes parted with Scott, who made headlines this season after being voted in by fans as one of the NHL All-Star Game captains. He appeared in just 11 games for Arizona this season, registering one assist and 25 penalty minutes.
Elliott saw action in 19 games for the Coyotes this season, with two goals, four assists and four penalty minutes.
