With the NFL Combine ongoing and the start of the new calendar season on March 14, the rumors surrounding the Arizona Cardinals and what they are going to do at quarterback continue to swirl.

After Arizona was already being linked to Kirk Cousins as a potential destination and with zero quarterbacks on the roster, the Arizona Cardinals are reportedly among three other teams — the Denver Broncos, New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings — “vying” for Cousins’ services, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Washington Redskins have franchise-tagged the 29-year-old signal caller not once, but twice, and could do so a third time to try to trade the quarterback, getting something in return instead of letting him walk in free agency. If that were to happen, Cousins would make $34.5 million in 2018. It is still up in the air as to what exactly they will do, but with Alex Smith coming over in a trade from Kansas City, Cousins’ days in Washington look to be over.

And with his impending departure almost certain, Larry Fitzgerald, David Johnson, Patrick Peterson and even country singer Blake Shelton have been seen using their platforms, try to get the message across that they want Cousins in Arizona for the foreseeable future. Cousins even called Fitzgerald a “GREAT recruiter” after an accidental run-in with the pass catcher in an Atlanta airport.

In 2017, Cousins completed 347 passes on 540 attempts for 4,093 yards and 27 touchdowns. He also threw 13 interceptions.
