The Arizona Cardinals ruled out running back Jeremiyah Love for Sunday’s game at the Los Angeles Rams, head coach Mike LaFleur said Friday.
LaFleur added that there has been no discussion of injured reserve for the running back.
In addition to Love, safeties Andrew Wingard and Wydett Williams Jr. will miss Sunday’s contest.
Rookie running back Jeremiyah Love did not participate again in Thursday’s practice after missing Wednesday’s practice, as the team continues managing his left ankle issue.
“As much as he wants to battle through, we’re all in agreeance right now as just give him a little bit of rest and see as the week goes on what that will entail for Sunday,” Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters Wednesday.
LaFleur later added, “He had the right (ankle) early and now (he’s) got the left one, so now you’re just kind of double dipping. The right (ankle he injured during preseason) is fine, it’s the other one right now that’s the lingering issue.”
Love initially injured his ankle in Week 4 against the New York Giants and played through it in Week 5 against the Detroit Lions. However, he was ineffective against Detroit, only carrying the ball 12 times for 22 yards and seeing just one target in the receiving game.
After resting during Wednesday’s practice, safety Budda Baker, offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo and edge rusher Josh Sweat were all full participants in Thursday’s practice. Baker did not practice Friday, but the other two were both regular participants.
Safety Kitan Crawford could be a reinforcement at the position. He and wide receiver Devin Duvernay were both limited in each day of practice. Crawford was put on injured reserve following Arizona’s Week 1 game.

LOL. Darius Robinson, BJ Olijari, MHJ, so many busts I think I'm in a Nevada brothel.
Dang it, looks like the safety position is pretty well depleted. Even though it's not likely, the Cardinal offense reeds to be their best defense, staying on the field as much as possible to prevent the Rams from getting the ball. The offensive line will be hard pressed to make this happen, no doubt. Go Cardinals!
If you don't play because you're always injured, talent is irrelevant. The early pattern is standard Cardinal operandi... talented but always injured or playing at 70% (Nolan) or just a plain old bust (MHJ, and 99% of everyone else Monti drafted). The best players currently on the team are from the Keim era.
